NEW YEAR SPANISH COURSES, 2022

 New Year Courses for all levels will start in mid-January. We will begin online for the first


two weeks and re-evaluate then, but the intention is to get back to face-to-face classes this term. As always, our focus is on practical, spoken Spanish. All courses are ten weeks long.

Covid policy

Because of the high number of Covid cases at the moment, we are going to begin all classes online for the first two weeks of the term. We will then re-evaluate. The intention is to return to face-to-face classes and to have a total of 50% online and 50% in the classroom.

In the classroom, we will ask students to wear masks and maintain social distance. All of our teachers are fully vaccinated.

Location

Face to face classes will take place in IT Sligo. Online classes will be on Zoom.

Dates and times

All classes are from 7.30pm to 8.45pm, except for the Leaving Cert course, which is from 5pm to 6.15pm.  

Most courses begin the week of January 24th, except for the Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate courses, which begin a week earlier.

Price

All courses - except the LC course - are €120 for 10 weeks. We have a discounted rate of €100 for the unwaged – full-time students and social welfare recipients. Please contact spanishinsligo@gmail.com for this rate. The Leaving Cert course is €110. 

 

We have six courses available this term, as follows…

Beginners – Wednesdays

This is our course for absolute beginners. We will cover introductions, food, numbers, telling the time, days of the week, directions, jobs and some basic grammar. The focus will be on practical, spoken Spanish. Starts Wednesday, January 26th.  Book a place here. 

Beginners 2 – Mondays

A follow-on course from our Beginner course of last term. Suitable for people who have done a short Beginner course in the past. Starts Monday, January 24th. Book a place here. 

Elementary – Tuesdays

This is a course for those who have done some basic courses in the past and are looking to expand their knowledge of the Spanish language. Starts Tuesday, January 25th. Book a place here. 

Pre-Intermediate – Mondays

A course for those who have been studying for a few years and want to continue deepening their ability in Spanish. Students in this level will already be able to communicate to a certain extent in Spanish though need help with accuracy, vocabulary and fluency. Starts Monday, January 17th. Book a place here. 

Intermediate - Wednesdays

Our highest level course. Students in this level can already converse in Spanish on a wide range of topics, though they need continued improvement in accuracy, vocabulary and fluency. Starts Wednesday, January 19th. Book a place here. 

Leaving Cert Preparation course

A ten week course that will focus on the oral exam but which will also cover the major verb tenses, listening, important vocabulary and the opinion question. Starts Thursday, January 27th at 5pm. Course cost: €110 flat rate. Book a place here.
