For the past participle, we take the AR from the end of the infinitive and add -ado

For IR and ER verbs, we take the ending off and add -ido

there are irregular verbs....

ver - visto
decir - dicho
hacer - hecho
abrir - abierto

We use it with the following words....
ya - already
todavía - yet
alguna vez - ever
nunca - never

We also learned about the Pretérito Perfecto - the perfect tense in Spanish....

We learnt some expressions to express likes and dislikes in Spanish. ¿Te gusta la cerveza? – Do you like beer? Sí, me encanta – Yes, I love it. Sí, me gusta mucho – Yes, I like it very much Sí, me gusta – Yes I like it No, no me gusta mucho – No, I don’t like it very much No, no me gusta – No, I don’t like it No, no me gusta nada – No, I don’t like it at all. If the noun is plural, we add an “n” at the end of “gusta”. See the examples below: ¿Te gustan los huevos? – Do you like eggs? Sí, me gustan mucho – Yes, I like them No, no me gustan nada – No, I don’t like them at all.

We then moved on to looking at the imperative in Spanish….4
For a positive imperative, we use the third person of the present tense verb…. Entra Come Bebe Habla Etc…
There are some irregular imperatives… Tener – ten Venir – ven Salir – sal Ser – sé Poner – pon
WE then looked at negative imperatives – telling people NOT to do something…. No fumes No comas No bebas No tomes
Here we use the second person of the subjunctive. For homework, we have to complete the table and the dialogue on p.19

THE GREAT CUBAN SONGWRITERS; A SPECIAL CONCERT BY FELIP CARBONELL

Twenty years after moving to Sligo from his native Mallorca, singer songwriter and composer, Felip Carbonell presents in 2018 a series of intimate concerts dedicated to the Hispanic poets and songwriters that have influenced his career as a musician. The unusual format of these concerts will give the audience the opportunity to interpret the meaning of the lyrics as well as the social and political factors involving the songwriters’ lives, and will include explanations and questions and answers in English.
In collaboration with the Sligo Spanish Society, for the first of this cycle, dedicated to Cuba, Felip will pay tribute to Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés, maximum exponents of the Nueva Trova Cubana, music movement that emerged in the late 60s after the Cuban Revolution of 1959. For this occasion Felip will be accompanied by his NoCrows colleague, guitarist Ray Coen.
