Class 1, 25-09

We began by reading about someone´s summer…. We underlined the verbs in the past tense and divided the verbs into regulars and irregulars….

Soy Daniel.

(It was also worth mentioning that we only have five sounds to the five vowels a,e,I,o,u, unlike the vowels in the English language which there are twelve sounds). We learnt the basic introductions and we practiced them in pairs.
Hola – hello Buenos días – Good morning Buenas tardes – Good afternoon / evening Buenas noches – Good night ¿Qué tal? – How are…

In our first class, we started with a little introduction about ourselves and the reasons for learning Spanish. For example: Me llamo Peter. Tengo treinta años y soy ingeniero. Llevo tres años estudiando español. Me gusta aprender este idioma porque es interesante y me gusta practicar cuando voy a países de habla española. Visité el sur de América hace dos años y aprendí mucho allí. – My name is Peter. I’m 30 and I am an engineer. I have been learning Spanish for three years. I like to learn this language because it is interesting and I like to practice when I go to Spanish-speaking countries. I visited South America two years ago and I learnt a lot there.
In the second part of the lesson we worked on page 3. Questions: Conversación 1: 1.¿Cómo te llamas de apellido? ¿Cuál es tu apellido? – What is your surname? 2.¿De dónde eres? – Where are you from? 3.¿Dónde vives? – Where do you live? 4.¿Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre? – What do you like to do in your free time? Elementary 1 Clase 1
•To begin, we refreshed our knowledge of Spanish and each one made a small introduction about himself but one of the sentences was false, then we tried to guess what the false information of each one was. Example: Me llamo Patricia, soy española pero vivo en Sligo. Soy profesora de español pero también trabajo como camarera. Tengo tres hermanos. Me gusta leer y cocinar.
My name is Patricia, I´m spanish but I live in Sligo. I´m spanish teacher but I also work as a waitress. I have three siblings. I like to read and cook.
False sentence: Patricia no tiene tres hermanos, ella tiene una hermana y un hermano Patricia doesn´t have three siblings, she has a sister and a brother.

•Together we read the verbs on page 3 and in pairs we tried to match those verbs with the pictures, at the end we corrected the exercise in common.
Un día normal.
Me levanto, me ducho, desayuno, voy al trabajo, empiezo a trabajar, almuerzo, vuelvo a casa, ceno, leo un libro, veo la tele, juego al fútbol, me acues…
