NEW YEAR, NEW COURSES

Starting the week of January 20th, 2014, Sligo Spanish Society are running courses in Spanish at all levels. Courses are nine or ten weeks long, and run until late March. All classes are once a week, and last from 8pm to 9.15, except the Morning Beginners course, which runs from 10.30am to 11.45. New this year is our Leaving Cert Spanish oral exam preparation course (see below).


Information and registration night is on Tuesday, January 14th, in Sligo City Hotel, from 7.30 to 9pm. For new students it is important to come to the information night in order to insure a place on a course. Courses available are as follows...

BEGINNERS:
This course runs every Monday night, beginning January 20th. The course is for people who have no previous knowledge of Spanish, and will run for nine weeks. Total cost is €120, or €100 for students or the unemployed.

 MORNING BEGINNERS

We also propose to run a morning beginners course, on Friday mornings, beginning Friday, January 24th, at 10.30am. This will be a ten week course, and will cost €130, with a discount for students and the unemployed. This course will depend on whether we have enough students to run it. 

IMPROVERS:
This course begins on Monday, January 20th, and will run for nine weeks. This is the continuation of a beginners course, so for people who have done a beginners course in the past, the Improvers level is an ideal follow on. Cost of the course is €120 or €100 for students or the unemployed. Course plan here....


IMPROVERS 2
This course is designed for those people who have done an Improvers course with us in the past, and would like to further their knowledge of Spanish. It provides students with a more in-depth look at the language. The course begins on Tuesday, January 21st, and lasts for 10 weeks. €130 or €110 for students or the unemployed.

INTERMEDIATE

This course is for people who already have a certain knowledge of Spanish, who have lived for a time in Spain or who have done a number of courses in the language. It begins on Wednesday, January 22nd, and runs for 10 weeks. Cost of the course is €130 or €110 for students or the unemployed.

 ORAL LEAVING CERT PREPARATION COURSE
This course is specifically for leaving cert students who want to prepare for the Leaving Cert oral Spanish exam. The course will be 10 weeks long and will begin on Wednesday January 22nd, at 8pm. Course cost is €120, and there will be a maximum of 10 students in this class. 
The course will cover all essential aspects of the oral exam, including pastimes, daily routine, the past, the future, describing your town, village, barrio, talking about school and interests and subjects studied. Also covered will be the five role plays. Course outline here..
