ELEMENTARY COURSE, SPRING 2017, CLASS 7

We began by revising some verbs in the daily routine
Me levanto – I get up
Me ducho – I have a shower
Desayuno – I have breakfast
Como – I have lunch
Vuelvo del trabajo – I return from work
Empiezo – I begin
Termino – I finish
Ceno – I have dinner
Me acuesto – I go to bed

We also talked about reflexive verbs: These are verbs that end in “se” in the infinitive
Generally, the “se” has the idea of “self”, though when we translate, there is sometimes no “self” meaning in English……

Me llamo – I call myself
Te llamas – you call yourself
Se llama – he/she calls himself/herself

Me levanto – I get up
Te levantas – you get up
Se levanta – he/she gets up

We learned two new verbs
Afeitarse – to shave
Maquillarse – to put on makeup




We also practiced verbs in the third person – he or she
Se levanta
Se ducha
Ve la tele
Come
Cena
Vuelve
Empieza
Termina
Se acuesta

We then went on to talk about houses
Las habitaciones – rooms
La casa – the house
El salón – the living room
la cocina - the kitchen
el cuarto de baño - the bathroom
El comedor – the dining room



Mi casa tiene dos pisos - My house has 2 floors
un jardín delante - a front garden
un jardín detrás - a back garden
en las afueras - in the outskirts
al lado de - beside
la quinta planta - the fifth floor.
