BEGINNERS COURSE, SPRING 2017, CLASS 6



This week we worked on typical dialogues in the restaurant.
¡oiga perdone! – Excuse me!
¿podemos pedir? – Can we order?
¿Qué van a tomar? – What would you like to have?
Quiero – I want
Quisiera – I would like….
De primero – for first course
De Segundo – for second course
Una copa de vino tinto – A glass of red wine
Un agua sin gas – Still water ; un agua con gas – sparkling water
¿Quieren postre? – Would you like dessert?
Para mí, el helado de fresa – Strawberry ice cream for me
Para mí, sólo un café, por favor – Just a coffee for me, thanks
¿Algo más? – Anything else?
Un poco más de agua, por favor – A bit more of water, please
Y traíganos un poco más de patatas fritas.  – And bring us a bit more chips
Y la cuenta también – And the bill too.



Pollo asado – roast chicken
Merluza – hake
Bistec – a steak
Torta de chocolate – chocolate cake

Other words and expressions we learnt:
Un vaso de agua – a glass of water
Una caña de cerveza – a beer in a glass of the size of a half pint

Una jarra de cerveza – A jug of beer (the size of a pint)
