INTERMEDIATE COURSE, AUTUMN 2016, CLASS 4

This week we revised the past in Spanish (El pretérito) and we worked on the questions on page 8 in pairs. Some examples below:

¿Qué hiciste durante el verano? – What did you do during the summer?
¿Fuiste de vacaciones? Sí, fui a España y estuve en la playa durante tres semanas. – Did you go on holidays? Yes, I went to Spain and I was on the becah for three weeks.
¿A dónde fuiste? Fui a Málaga, una ciudad que está al sur de España y es muy bonita – Where did you go? I went to Malaga, a city which is in the south of Spain and it is very beautiful.
¿Hiciste ejercicio? Sí, hice ejercicio con una amiga que vive allí. – Yes, I did exercise with a friend who lives there.
¿Conociste personas nuevas? Sí, conocí a la novia de mi primo. – Did you meet new people? Yes, I met my cousin’s girlfriend.
¿Aprendiste algo nuevo? Sí, aprendí a hornear – Did you learn something new? Yes, I learnt how to bake.
¿Pasaste fines de semana fuera de Sligo? Sí, pasé tres semanas viajando por Europa. – Did you spend weekends outside Sligo? Yes, I spent three weeks travelling around Europe.

Las vacaciones de Isabel.
We read the holidays which were in the infinitive form and in pairs we wrote them in the first person singular. Then we listened to the answers.
Llegué a México – I arrived in Mexico.
Fui a la playa – I went to the beach
Fui de excursion a una isla – I went to a trip to an island
Comí en un barco – I eat on a ship
Visité los monumentos típicos – I visited the typical monuments
Comí en un restaurante típico – I ate in a typical restaurant
Dormí en el hotel Aluxes – I slept in Aluxes hotel.
Vi las pirámides – I saw the pyramids
Estuve en el hotel Copacabana – I was in Copacabana hotel
Hice una excursión por una ciudad turística – I went to a trip to a touristic place
Paseé por una ciudad – I strolled around a city
Compré regalos – I bought presents
Vi una catedral – I saw a cathedral
Visité la capital del país – I visited the capital of the country

Volví a España – I went back to Spain.
