PRE-INTERMEDIATE COURSE, SPRING 2016, CLASS 7


We began by revising vocab we learned last week connected with jokes
We then went on to talk about jokes
Los chistes – jokes
We discussed los chistes de Lepe, jokes about stupid people from the town of Lepe
Un juego de palabras – a play on words
Un armario – a wardrobe
Una pista – a runway
La mudanza – moving house
Las perchas – clothes hangers
Sujetar – to hold
Migas de pan – breadcrumbs
Borroso – blurry
La taquilla – the ticket office
El relleno – stuffing
Esperar – to wait
Doblar – to fold
Romper – to tear

Other words that came up
Ponerse – to become, to get
Ponerse gordo – to get fat
Ponerse enferme – to get sick
La quinta vez – the fifth time
Bajar – to come down, to land

We matched the jokes with their punchlines….
1 – G, 2 – D, 3 – A, 4 – E, 5 – F, 6 – C, 7 – B

We then went on to practice the Pretérito tense, which is used for recounting actions in the past
AR verbs
Hablé, hablaste, habló

IR/ER verbs
Comí, comiste, comió.....

IR: fui, fuiste, fue
Tener: tuve, tuviste, tuvo
Hacer: hice, hiciste, hizo

We asked and answered about our weekends.
Trabajé en el jardín
Conduje a Wicklow (conducir – conduje, condujiste, condujo)
Salí
Jugué en un torneo de balonmano.


For homework we have to learn one of the jokes by heart.
