To begin we revised some of the words for objects that we learned last week
Un abrelatas – a tin opener
Un cortaúñas – a nail clippers
Una cuchara – a spoon
Una vela – a candle
Un sacacorchos – a corkscrew

We also practiced the question..
¿Para qué sirve….? – what is it for?
Una cuchara sirve para comer
Una vela sirve para iluminar un espacio
Una cartera sirve para contener/llevar dinero

We also revised the names of other objects on p.24
Un carrito de bebe – a stroller, buggy
Una tabla de surf – a surf board
Palos de golf – golf clubs
Un casco – a helmet
Una aspiradora – a hoover
Juguetes – toys
Una silla de ruedas – a wheelchair

We also learned  expressions in the listening
El casco histórico – the old centre of the city (el casco – the helmet)
Incluso – even

We then went on to listen to someone talk about their life
We revised the preterite tense, one of the past tenses in Spanish
AR verbs
Trabajé, trabajaste, trabajó, trabajamos, trabajasteis, trabajaron
IR/ER verbs
Comí, comiste, comió, comiste, comisteis, comieron

Irregular verbs
Ir – fui, fuiste, fue, fuimos, fuisteis, fueron
Hacer – hice, hiciste, hizo, hicimos, hicisteis, hicieron
Tener – tuve, tuviste, tuvo, etc……

We listened to Ana talking about her life, and asked and answered questions on p.23 in groups.


Our homework was to read the biography of a famous person on p. 23 and to decide who it is. Then we had to write the bio of another famous person, in the preterite, without saying who the person is. The others in the class will have to guess who it is.
