ELEMENTARY COURSE, NEW YEAR 2016, CLASS 2


We began by revising what we had done last week
Despedidas – goodbyes
Saludos – greetings

Despedida de soltero/a – Stag/hen party
Bienvenido/a a la clase – Welcome to the class
Hasta ahora/pronto – see you soon
Hasta la vista – see you next time
Hasta la semana que viene – see you next week

Que te vaya bien – hope everything goes well
Cuida-te – take care
Nos vemos – see you (we´ll see each other soon)
We also revised the differences between Tú and Usted
Generally we take the “s” off the Tú verb form to get the Usted form.
¿Estás casado? – ¿está usted casado?
¿Dónde vives? - ¿Dónde vive usted?

 We then learned about tapas
Pimientos rellenos – stuffed peppers
Garbanzos – chickpeas
Lentejas – lentils
Mejillones – mussels
El aceite – olive oil
Las aceitunas – olives
Las croquetas – croquettes
La ensaladilla rusa – a salad with mayonnaise, potato, egg, and sometimes tuna
Gazpacho – cold tomato soup
Empanadas – meat pastries
La tortilla de patata – omellette with potato

We also learned expressions around tapas
Una ración – a portion
Media ración – a half portion
¿Me pone…..? – Will you give me….?
Sin calendar – without heating

¿Has comido.....? - have you eaten....
He comido.... - I have eaten
No he comido - I haven´t eaten..
