We began by revising verbs to talk about pastimes....

jugar al golf - to play golf
tocar un instrumento - to play an instrument
pasear en el campo - to go for a walk in the country
ir de copas - to go for a few drinks
ir de compras - to to shopping
ir al cine - to go to the cinema
dormir - to sleep
nadar - to swim
aprender - to learn
bailar - to dance
cantar - to sing
escuchar la música - to listen to music
ver la televisión - to watch TV
leer - to read

we added some verbs
cocinar - to cook
montar en bicicleta (bici) - to ride a bicycle
pescar - to fish
tejer - to knit

We also looked at liking and disliking
me gusta cocinar - I like cooking
¿te gusta cocinar? - do you like cooking?
A Joe le gusta cocinar - Joe likes cooking
For the third person we use "le"

We then went on to learn about the present tense
nadar - to swim
nado - I swim
nadas - you swim
nada - he/she swims (or "you swim" (formal - usted))
Normally we don't use the pronouns (yo, tú, él/ella) before the verbs. They are optional.

comer - to eat
como - I eat
comes - you eat
come - he/she eats - you (formal) eat

Jugar - to play
Juego - I play
juegas - you play
juega - he/she plays

Ir - to go, voy - I go, vas - you go, va - he/she goes
Hacer - to do, hago - I do, haces - you do, hace - he/she does

we also learned some expressions of frequency
siempre - always
mucho - a lot
a veces - sometimes
nunca - never

We practiced the questions...
¿Qué haces en tu tiempo libre?
¿Qué haces los fines de semana? - What do you do at the weekends?
