We began by revising the Perfect tense in Spanish
¿Has estado en Málaga? - Have you been to Malaga?
Sí, he estado en Malaga. - Yes, I have been to Malaga.
He estado ahí muchas veces. - I have been there many times.

We use this tense to talk about our whole lives, in the sense of "ever" or "never".

If we want to be specific, and to talk about one particular point in time, we use the Pretérito...

There are also some irregular verbs
Ir: fui, fuiste, fue
Tener: tuve, tuviste, tuvo
Ser: fui, fuiste, fue
Estar: estuve, estuviste, estuvo
hacer: hice, hiciste, hizo

We practiced the questions....
¿Cuando fuiste a España por primera vez? - When did you go to Spain for the first time?
¿Qué hiciste el fin de semana? - What did you do at the weekend?
(This last question is to be prepared for homework, and will be asked next week as well.)

We learned the expressions...
Fue fatal - it was awful
Una despedida de soltero/a - a Stag/hen party

We also listened to a news report about the opening of a Dalí Museum
inaugurar - to open, inaugurate
asistir - to attend (note: Falso Amigo)
albergar - to house, accommodate
La Infanta Cristina = la princesa Cristina
pintura = cuadro
edificio - a building
aguantar - to withstand

We also practiced the verb "nacer"
¿Dónde naciste? - Where were you born?
Nací en ..... - I was born in ......

we also practiced how to say the years in Spanish...

1976 - mil novecientos setenta y seis
1492 - mil cuatrocientos noventa y dos
2001 - dos mil uno

2015 - dos mil quince.
