We began by revising some new words from last week
afeitarse - to shave - me afeito - I shave
maquillarse - to put on makeup - me maquillo - I put on makeup
el maquillaje - makeup

We then learned a little about the geography of Spain
la geografía - the geography
las comunidades - the communities (regions)
Santiago está en Galicia
Note: We always need the verb Estar to talk about location
Ubicación - location
Zaragoza está en Aragón
Euskadi = el País Vasco - the Basque country
Euskera - the Basque language

We then went on to use the Perfect in Spanish
¿Has estado en Málaga? - Have you ever been to Malaga?
Sí, he estado en Málaga. - Yes, I have been to Malaga.
No, no estado en Málaga.
He estado ahí una vez - I've been there once
He estado ahí muchas veces - I've been there many times.

We form the perfect with the verb Haber + the past participle
Haber - he, has, ha, hemos, habeis, han
Past participle - usually we form it with -ado (for AR verbs) and -ido (for IR/ER verbs) - Estar - estado

We then went on to practice the Preterite, which is a past tense in Spanish, We concentrated on the first person

Fui - I went
hice - I did
estuve - I was
Comí - I ate
Aprendí - I learned

Cené - I had dinner
Tomé el sol - I sunbathed
Viajé - I travelled
Visité - I visited
Trabajé - I worked
Me gustó - I liked it


We practiced the questions....
¿Cuándo fuiste a España por última vez? - When did you last go to Spain?
¿Qué hiciste ahí? - What did you do there?
¿Cuánto tiempo pasaste ahí? - How much time did you spend there?

We also learned some vocab...

fue aburrido - it was boring
