IMPROVERS 2 COURSE, 2015, CLASS 1

We began the class by introducing ourselves.
Presentarse - to introduce yourself

We then talked a lot about food
las tapas
el chorizo
la ensaladilla rusa - Russian salad (potato salad with eggs, tuna, onion etc.)
las almendras - almonds
las aceitunas - olives
la tortilla de patata - potato omelette
los boquerones - anchovies
las croquetas - croquettes
las albóndigas - meatballs

We listened to and practiced a conversation in a bar
calentar - to heat
póngame - serve me/give me
en la terraza - on the patio, outside
en seguida - right away

we also learned words for fruit and vegetables in Spanish

las cerezas - cherries
la piña - pineapple
las moras - blackberries
las frambuesas - raspberries
las fresas - strawberries
los melocotones - peaches
las uvas - grapes

Los champiñones - mushrooms
Las cebollas - onions
El coliflor - cauliflower
La lechuga - lettuce
Las lentejas - lentils
Las zanahorias - carrots
Las judías - beans
Los pimientos - peppers


We learned words for describing food....
delicioso - delicious
rico - gorgeous
jugoso - juicy
soso - bland
sabroso - tasty

we also practiced talking about likes and dislikes
me gusta la lechuga
me gustan las zanahorias
te gusta
