We began by revising the reflexive verbs in different tenses

eg.
Acostarse
presente
pretérito
Futuro
continuo

Me acuesto
Te acuestas
Se acuesta
Nos acostamos
Os acostáis
Se acuestan
Me acosté
Te acostaste
Se acostó
Nos acostamos
Os acostasteis
Se acostaron
Me acostaré
Te acostarás
Se acostará
Nos acostaremos
Os acostareis
Se acostarán.
Me estoy acostando
Te estás acostando
Se está acostando
Etc...

We then went on to look at the Imperfect
This a past tense, used just as much as the Preterite, though in different situations.

IR/ER verbs
Comer

Comía

Comíais
Comían

There are two irregular verbs
Ir - iba, ibas, iba, íbamos, ibais, iban
Ser - era, eras, era, éramos, erais, eran

There are two main uses for the Imperfect
1. Used to
For repeated actions/ prolonged situations in the past
Yo comía muchos bonbones cuando era joven - I used to eat a lot of sweets when I was a child

2. What was happening...

El sol brillaba y los pájaros cantaban - the sun was shining and the birds were singing.
