We began by revising how to describe people. We learned that adjectives have to agree with nouns.

Ellos son jóvenes.
Ella es alta.
él es viejo.
Ella es vieja.
Ella tiene el pelo rubio.
Ella es rubia.

We then revised the weather.
¿Qué tiempo hace? - what's the weather like?
Hace buen tiempo - it is good weather
Hace mal tiempo - it is bad weather
Hace frío - it is cold
Hace calor - it is hot
hace viento - it is windy
hace sol - it is sunny

hay una tormenta - there is a storm
hay niebla - there is fog
hay nieve - there is snow
hay lluvia - there is rain
hay cielos despejados - there are clear skies

está nublado - it is cloudy

We learned some other words connected to the weather
10 grados - 10 degrees
las temperaturas máximas - maximum temperatures
chubascos - showers

And the points of the compass.
El oeste - the west

El este - the east

El noroeste - the northwest

El noreste - the north east
El norte - the north

El sur - the south

We then went on to learn some verbs to talk about pastimes...
montar en bici - to ride a bike
montar en caballo - to ride a horse
dormir - to sleep
cocinar - to cook
ir de copas - to go for a few drinks
ir de compras - to go shopping
ir al cine - to go to the cinema
jugar al golf - to play golf
tocar un instrumento - to play an instrument
escuchar la música - to listen to music
ver la tele - to watch TV
bailar - to dance
cantar - to sing
pasear en el campo - to go for a walk in the country
