We began by revising expressions connected to shopping

la tienda - the shop
el precio - the price
De compras - shopping
Busco - I am looking for
Necesito - I need
¿Hay? - Is there?/ are there?
¿Cuánto cuesta? - how much is it?

Aquí tiene - here you are
Me lo llevo - I'll take it
Es muy caro - it is very expensive
Es barato - it is cheap
es demasiado caro - it is too expensive

We then went on to learn about parts of the body
El cuerpo - the body
La cabeza - the head
La nariz - the nose
La oreja - the (outer) ear
El oído - the (inner) ear
La boca - the mouth
los labios - the lips
Los dientes - the teeth
el pelo - the hair
la cara - the face
el cuello - the neck
el brazo - the arm
la mano - the hand
el dedo - the finger
el estómago - the stomach
el corazón - the heart
la pierna - the leg
el pie - the foot
el hombro - the shoulder
la espalda - the back
la piel - the skin
Then we talked about various illnesses
Me duele el pie - my foot hurts
Me duelen los pies - my feet hurt
Tengo la pierna rota - I have a broken leg
Tengo el brazo roto - I have a broken arm
Roto is an adjective, and so has to agree with the noun

We then learned a simple conversation
¿Qué te pasa? - What's wrong with you?
Me duele la cabeza - my head hurts

Enfermedades - illnesses
Estoy resfriado/a - I have a cold
Tengo tos - I have a cough
Tengo la gripe - I have the flu
Tengo fiebre - I have fever
