INTERMEDIATE COURSE, SPRING 2014, CLASS 3

 In this lesson, we learnt the imperative form in detail. We also finished reading and translating the paragraphs about the Canary Islands. Some words did not understand:

Una experiencia inigualable – an incomparable experience
Relájate sobre la arena dorada – Relax on the golden sand.
Para recuperar fuerzas – To recharge your batteries
Déjate sorprender – Let yourself be surprised
Espacios naturales – natural places, spots
Visita la imponente catedral – visit the impressive cathedral
La grandiosa Iglesia – the impressive church
Atraviesa en camello – cross on camel
Parajes – places
Reserva de la Biosfera – biological reserve
Déjate envolver por la magia de los lugares – Let yourself be involved in the magic of the places
Aprovecha – make the most of
Exquisito pescado – delicious fish
Un suculento manjar – a succulent food (food in the sense that something you do not eat very often because of its price, because it is hard to find, etc)

With the help of some photocopies given in class, in pairs, we completed the chart with the different forms of the verbs in the imperative form.

To finish the lesson, they had to promote their towns or countries in the formal way of the imperative form (in singular). Some of the sentences were:

Visite los pubs de Sligo y beba mucha cerveza – Visit the pubs in Sligo and drink a lot of beer.
Pruebe el estofado irlandés – Taste the Irish stew
Atrévete a escalar Benbulben – Dare to climb Benbulben
Vaya a Bistro y pruebe las pizzas – Go to Bistro and taste the pizzas
Disfrute de las playas de Rosses Point – Enjoy Rosses Point beaches
Utilice ropa cómoda y póngase un abrigo – Use comfortable clothes and put on a coat.
