We began by talking a little about el Día de los inocentes, which is the Spanish version of April Fools Day. It falls on December 28.

We also welcomed our new students..
Bienvenido - welcome (to a man)
Bienvenida - welcome (to a woman)
Bienvenidos - welcome (to a group)

We talked about Falsos Amigos, words that look like English words but that have a different meaning
Sensible - sensitive
La librería - the bookshop
Embarazada - pregnant
El conductor - the driver
Asistir - to attend
Etc

We then learned some vocab for travel and transport
La maleta - the suitcase
El autobús - the bus
La estación - the station
La parada de autobuses - the bus stop
La parada de taxis - the taxi rank
El avión - the airplane
El tren - the train
El barco - the boat/ship
La bicicleta (la bici) - the bicycle
El equipaje - the luggage

We also learned some more vocab
El billete - the ticket
Una ida y vuelta - a return ticket
Una ida - a one-way
Un viaje - a journey
Viajar - to travel
Un retraso - a delay
Facturación - check in
Salidas - departures
Llegadas - arrivals
La tarjeta de embarque - the boarding card
La puerta - the gate (in an airport)

We practiced some conversations in a train station and then listened to some announcements - anuncios
We also learned some vocabulary here...
Una tarjeta de crédito - a credit card
¿puede decirme....? - can you tell me?
Déme - give me (polite)
Salir - to leave
Llegar - to arrive
