INTERMEDIATE COURSE, 2014, CLASS 6

In this lesson, we learned how to ask “How long have you…?” in Spanish: ¿Cúanto tiempo hace que…?
Hace tres años que vivo aquí
è    I’ve lived here for three years.
Vivo aquí desde hace tres años

1.Hace dos años que trabajo en el taller. – I’ve worked in a garage for two years.
2.Hace un año que tengo novia. – I’ve had a girlfriend for a year.
3.Hace cuatro años que tengo el carnet de conducir. – I’ve had my driving license for four years
4.Hace cuatro años que tengo coche. – I’ve had a car for four years.
5.Hace cuarenta años que mi familia tiene el taller mecánico – My family has had the garage for forty years.

In pairs, we made questions for those answers:
1.¿Cuánto hace que trabajas en el taller? – How long have you worked in the garage?
2.¿Cuánto hace que tienes novia? – How long have you had a girlfriend?
3.¿Cuánto hace que tienes el carnet de conducir? – How long have you had your driving license?
4.¿Cuánto hace que tienes coche? – How long have you had a car?
5.¿Cúanto hace que tu familia tiene el taller mecánico? – How long has your family had the garage?

We also worked on activity number 16. In pairs, students made questions and answers and then we shared them with the rest of the class. Some of the questions and answers were:
¿Dónde vives? – Where do you live?
Vivo en Sligo – I live in Sligo
¿Cuánto hace que vives allí? – How long have you lived there?
Hace cuarenta años que vivo en Sligo – I have lived in Sligo for forty years

¿Cuánto hace que estudias español? – How long have you studied Spanish?
Hace quince años que estudio español  - I have studied Spanish for fifteen years.

¿Tienes coche? – Do you have a car?
¿Cuánto tiempo hace que tienes coche? – How long have you had a car?
Tengo coche desde 2005 – I have had a car since 2005

¿Cuánto hace que vives en el campo? – How long have you lived in the countryside?
Vivo en el campo desde que nací – I have lived in the countryside since I was born.

¿Cuánto tiempo hace que trabajas? – How long have you worked?
Trabajo desde el pasado noviembre – I’ve worked since last November.
